About Us
North Florida Elite was founded in 2017 after Owner/Lead Instructor, Juan Colon, relocated to Tallahassee from South Florida with his wife Natalie and daughter Stella. Juan, known as Coach JC to his players, has over 20 years of coaching experience and a deep love for the game of baseball. Coach JC played his collegiate career at Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL. Lynn is also where he found his purpose in coaching and began his career leading the team's OF and hitting, helping them to flourish offensively.
During off season, Coach continued his training as an instructor at local major academies such as, Bucky Dent Baseball School and Baseball Factory, for over nine years. After leaving LU, Coach signed on as Head Assistant at Boca Raton High School. He assisted in turning the program around and into regional contenders for multiple years straight.
In 2014, after signing on with the Tallahassee Fire Department, he quickly joined the North Florida Christian Varsity Baseball coaching staff where he lead the teams offense as hitting and third base coach. While there, he helped develop the team into a potent offensive force averaging over 10 runs each game and assisted in leading them to back to back final fours with a state runner up.
Having helped numerous players achieve their goal in reaching the professional level in baseball, Coach is now branching out creating his dream program through North Florida Elite Baseball. With focus on bringing a different approach to coaching baseball to the big bend area, North Florida Elite is built on creating well-rounded athletes allowing players to reach their fullest potential on and off the field. Coach JC hopes to instill and grow the same love and respect he has for the game in all of his players.
